Opening this past weekend are two exhibits are the Woodson Art Museum. I want Candy, the Sweet Stuff of American art explores our nation’s love affair with sweets and reflects the profusion of confections available to inspire consumers and artists alike. Candy can easily be described as: delicious, delectable, delightful, decadent, and endlessly enticing. The fifty works from
40 contemporary artists in the exhibit will certainly satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth.
Matthew Klein plays with food for a living. In his exhibit Tempting Confections: Photographs by Matthew Klein, his challenge is to make foods look deliciously appetizing. Tempting Confections features mouthwatering photographs of delectable desserts, pleasing to both the palate and the eye. Meticulous, detailed preparation is Klein’s secret ingredient.
As a lover of food photography, these images are making me hungry. Both exhibits run from November 20 to January 23, 2011. Directions and hours of operation are located at RelyLocal.com.
