With the actual day of Halloween falling on a Monday, there has been no lack of spooky things to do on the weekend leading up to the holiday. Of the all the activities available this coming weekend, here’s a little three day bender of music and fun, both adult and family oriented. Costumes are encouraged so dust off your favorite character, or at the very least don a pair of Groucho Marx glasses.
The fun starts on Friday October 28 at 8:00pm with Russ and Malibu of All About You DJ Service start pumping up the music and Karaoke at the Hangar Lounge in Wausau. This event encourages crowd participation, so what better time than Halloween to get dressed up , warm up your singing voice and have some spooky fun.
After that, on Saturday, October 29th starting at 7:30pm you can find the Wausau Symphony and Band performing their Classics from the Crypt concert at the Grand Theater. Hear some frightfully spooky classical and contemporary music, including selections from the motion pictures Jaws, Wicked, and Harry Potter. Tickets are $12 adults and $10 children. Advance tickets available at Biggby Coffee in Rib Mountain and Wausau, Slumberland, County Market and Antlers Archery in Weston. Tickets also will be available at the door.
Finally on Sunday the 30th, at 2:00pm head over to the First UU Church in Wausau for their Pipe Screams organ concert. This free, hour long Halloween themed organ concert is designed for the whole family. Come hear area organists pull out all the stops and play the pieces they love but can’t play for church services. Sing pumpkin carols, admire our seasonally decorated sanctuary and enjoy treats. Costumes are encouraged for performers and the audience as well. Bring the kids and enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun.
