Welcome to March! What a great way to end February with a nice big snow storm. March signals the meteorological start of spring, so warmer days and nicer weather are ahead.
Business Member News
We’ve quite a few new members to the RelyLocal roster in the last two months. But there are still quite a few businesses that don’t display the round RelyLocal logo in their shop window. What’s your favorite local business? Suggest to them that they should join the community campaign to support local business and keep money flowing in our local economy. Learn more at RelyLocal Wausau.
I’m sure everyone has a great Bowl-a-Dome memory. My kids have been to many a bowling party there and their bar is one of the area destinations for Packer games. I’m also glad to announce that they’re our newest RelyLocal Business Member. Head on over to Day’s Bowl-a-Dome and Let the Good Times Roll.
Please welcome Pro Players Sports Bar and Grill to the RelyLocal Family. Pro Players, located at 206 Grand Ave in Schofield has the warm friendly atmosphere of a local neighborhood bar. Plus they’ve got a great lunch and dinner menu including wing specials on Wednesday and Thursday and fish fry on Friday.
Starting today, Vino Latte Coffee House and Wine Boutique will be open one hour later on weeknights. Monday to Friday you’ll be able to enjoy coffee, a glass of wine, appetizers, or anything off their menu until 8:00pm. Help them celebrate by stopping in on Thursday March 1 from 5:00 – 7:00pm for wine samples and appetizers.
Just this last week, The Planted Seed in Wausau has added 20 new items to their store’s inventory. I love stopping their to pick up bulk items and spices, and now they have an even bigger selection of teas and bulk spices. They also stock grass fed beef, pork, poultry and bison. Have you ever tried bison meat? If not, read my review below as I compare bison to grass fed beef.

With a provocative title like that, you know you’ll be in for a treat. Gary Anderson is an actor that brings trial lawyer Clarence Darrow to life. Darrow is best known for his work in taking the hard cases and working towards social justice. He’s also the lawyer that argued against William Jennings Bryan in the infamous Scopes Monkey Trial. Providing a powerful experience, Anderson strips away the pretense and portrays the raw man himself. Naked Darrow will appear at the First UU Church of Wausau
on March 9-11. Details below:
Facebook for Business
Facebook held their first ever ‘Facebook Marketing Conference’ this week. While I didn’t attend this event, I did carefully watch the announcements they made during the event; the biggest of which is that Facebook Business Pages will receive the Timeline treatment by the end of March. My next Facebook for Business class is Tuesday, March 27 and we’ll cover some these changes and teach you how businesses can use Facebook to connect and interact with their customers in this popular social media channel. Details on the class are at the link below.
I’m glad to announce that next week will be our first anniversary for the RelyLocal Newsletter. Thank you to everyone that stuck with us since the beginning and I’m looking forward to publishing issue number 53 next week.
