June 14 is Flag Day, it commemorates the adoption of the United States Flag back in 1777. The first Flag Day was observed in 1916. This weekend is also Father’s Day. I like how both Flag Day and Father’s Day coincide closely with each other; because that usually means warm weather, picnics, and a beautiful new tie for dad. On second though, skip the tie and head over to one of our RelyLocal Business Members for some great Father’s Day gift ideas.

Closing Thoughts

It’s the season of road construction and the City currently has Prospect Street torn up. I’ve been carefully documenting the construction process. Please check out my blog every Friday for an update (a new one will be posted tomorrow). In the first segment they tore up the asphalt, and tomorrow you’ll see them starting to lay storm sewers. You’ll won’t believe the amount os infrastructure is underneath the road until you watch them tear it all out.
