This was not the week to be working in construction. The unbearably hot temperatures don’t make for easy work. But the work on Prospect street is progressing, even if it doesn’t appear so. Every day the crew digs a new hole, lays some pipe and fills it back up again. For the last week they’ve been focusing on connecting houses to water and sewer mains. So not only are they digging the street, but also starting to remove sidewalk and chunks of lawn so they can connect the houses.
Unfortunately this also means that many of the large trees along Prospect have been removed. Their stumps where hauled away a little earlier in the week. Prospect was a nice shady street; and I think it will be again in about 20 years.
