I’ve received some great feedback from last week’s newsletter. It feels good to know that people are reading and responding to the message inside. Thanks for reading and being part of our community campaign. Another piece of feedback wasn’t so positive. Last week I equated the speed of the approaching holidays as a ‘death spiral.’ While I didn’t intend to take such a cynical approach to the holidays; my words took on a different meaning, and I apologize for that. Let’s think of the holidays as a whirling carnival ride: the harder you hold on, the more fun it can be. I’ll try not to be so provocative in the future.

Long time readers may remember my passion for food and that in addition to being a foodie, I’m also an accomplished amateur chef. I’m also glad to announce that I’ll be making my third appearance at the YWCA’s Men Who Cook event next January. I’ll have more details on my French Bistro style menu in the weeks to come. But I do have a new recipe for some crock pot pulled pork on my blog. Pork shoulder is a great, inexpensive, cut and thanks to the slow cooking power of the crock pot, it can make a great weekday meal. More on the Buy Local Wausau Blog.
