Could these be the dog days of summer? Our weather has been so pleasant the last few weeks, I can’t imagine that we would get another big heat wave. I’m certainly not complaining, but I’m sure the guys selling air conditioners would love to see it hot.

Smart Money Tip of the week

Thank you Travis over at Financial Fiduciaries for another great money saving tip. I know that putting away cash for Christmas shopping has made a big difference and less ‘credit card regret’ after the holidays.

The holiday season can be an expensive time of the year. Be sure to start saving a little extra each month now, rather than funding your gift purchases and traveling costs with a credit card. Some financial institutions provide seasonal savings accounts. These accounts usually earn a slightly higher rate of interest, but penalty free withdrawals can only be made once or twice a year. Not only will paying off your credit card over the first couple months of the year throw off your budget, but you will also pay more than expected through high interest charges!

Most businesses have Facebook pages. Social media sites like Facebook are a great way to connect customers and create a conversation that you normally wouldn’t have using other forms of marketing. Some businesses do a great job with their social media, while others may desire a little coaching. That’s why I offer my Facebook Tune-Up service. For only $77, you will receive a 1 on 1 consultation giving you actionable advice custom tailored to your business’s social media needs. Times are limited, so contact me today at (715)203-1240 or email to schedule your tune-up.

Closing Thoughts

School is starting in only a few short weeks. Back to school shoppers are in full force, but there are still many students that don’t have a good backpack or proper school supplies. That’s whyFill a Backpack, Fill a Need is so important. As you shop this weekend, consider buying a few extra supplies and donating them to FABFANDay’s Bowl-a-Dome is collecting until August 12th, or you can drop off your donations on Wednesday August 13th from 9am-6pm at the National Guard Armory on 17th Ave in Wausau.

Have a great start to the weekend, and keep it local, my friends.
