This week’s unsettled weather is certainly keeping us on our toes. Up to five tornadoes spotted in southern Wisconsin and plenty of wind damage happened in Madison last Tuesday. Fortunately the worst of the weather skirted by us, leaving us with just overnight thunderstorms. The stormy nights and sunny days have been good for the garden but sure can wreak havoc on your basement if your sump pump fails. So check those sumps as more wet weather is in store towards the weekend.

Cookies are a great compliment to the dessert table at any party. Unlike a piece of cake, they’re portable, so your guests can leave with a little memento of the event if they’re too full for dessert. Contact Debbie at Loving Traditions Cakery for cookies that will fit in with any occasion.

Frasiers Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling

A few weeks back we were having drain problems, so we had a guy come in with a sewer cam to check things out. You’ve probably heard about sewer cameras, but you have probably never seen how they work.

Here’s Aaron, a tech with Frasiers Plumbing, Heating and Cooling showing what a “dip” in a drain line can look like. As he explained in our spring edition of “Comfort Enthusiast,” these dips are often where freeze ups and clogs tend to happen. Right now is the best time of year to get your drains inspected by one of our techs using these cameras. The ground is soft, and the digging is easy. That can save you a bundle. Check out the video, and if your sewer drain seems slow, backs up, or makes that glugging sound when you flush, give Frasiers Plumbing, Heating and Cooling a call to schedule an inspection.

Closing Thoughts

There’s a big change in activity on the Grand Avenue reconstruction project. The sidewalk repairs are complete along with the installation of the new light poles. Now the southbound traffic will shift to the outside lane so that crews can start grinding down the pavement of the two inner lanes. As always, watch for changing road conditions and give yourself a bit of extra time when traveling through the construction zone (especially during rush hour).
