So who’s turned on furnace on yet? At our home its a bit of a game to see just how long we can go into October without turning on the heat. I feel we’ve done well if we can make it until November first, although last year October got so cold that we only lasted until the 3rd week of October. But for this year: so far, so good. Unless we get a cold blast, I’m confident we can hold out a couple more weeks. As I always say- just throw on another sweater.

You may of seen the collection boxes stationed around town at area grocery stores such Trigs, Pick N Save, County Market and Quality Foods IGA. The Wausau Noon Kiwanis Coats for Kids project in in full swing. From now until the end of October please donate your gently used or new coat to help keep our youth warm. A significant percentage of Wausau area residents do not have warm jackets for the winter, so the Coats for Kids program is an invaluable program to keep our youth warm, healthy, and safe. Camp Phillips Rd closing
CR-X / Camp Phillips Road Closure in the Village of Weston Starting at approximately 8:15 am on Monday October 20th, 2014: CR-X also known as Camp Phillips Rd, in the Village of Weston will be closed to all North & South Through Traffic from East Jelinek Ave. north to Schofield Ave for a pavement repair project. This pavement repair project and full closure is anticipated to take 3 working days and is weather dependent. The official detour of CR-X / Camp Phillips Rd. will be Schofield Ave, east to Von Kanel St., south on Von Kanel St. to Barbican St and West to CR-X / Camp Phillips Rd. Motorists should expect delays and are urged to use alternate routes.
I wish the wind hadn’t picked up this week and blown off all the leaves. The fall color is especially vibrant this year. But I have been able to get out and do a few early morning photo walks.
