The Marathon County Historical Society welcomes noted genealogy lecturer, and map enthusiast, Laurel Hoffman and invites all genealogists and those interested in history to her presentation The Evolution of Marathon County.
Hoffman will explain how natural features and people through political process have created and then changed the towns of Marathon County. Through the years boundaries have been moved, and sometimes even the names have been changed. Learn why there is a notch out of the northwest corner of the county and what happened to the Town of Flieth.
Hoffman is the librarian for the Marathon County Genealogical Society and also the Pommerscher Verein of Central Wisconsin Library at the Berlin Center in Naugart.
