It’s been a bleak week: rain, sleet, snow. Dealing with dropping temperatures and rapidly vanishing afternoon daylight. November certainly is a dreary month, the leaves are gone, but the brilliance of white snow hasn’t arrived. I think the birds know what’s coming for winter. Every afternoon they make their presence known; roosting, squawking, and picking away at the garden for any left over goodies. It’s a regular cacophony out there.

Skis Meat Market
Thanksgiving is only three weeks away, so call now to reserve your Thanksgiving Turkey from Ski’s Meat Market. Our fresh turkeys are air-chilled, all-natural, raised without antibiotics and fed a healthy all-vegetable diet. Call (715) 870-2136 or stop in any day 7 days a week. But hurry, these turkeys have limited availability. Skis Meat Market in Rib Mountain. . .
Once you get your turkey, you’ll need to know how to cook it. Fresh turkeys aren’t injected with a brine solution like the frozen supermarket turkeys. So to prevent them from drying out and to increase their flavor, I recommend a dry rub. Read more on cooking turkey on the Buy Local Wausau Blog.
