Marathon-County-Public-Library-exterior-winterNeed to get the kids out of the house this during winter break? There’s plenty of activities for teens and the younger set at the Marathon County Public Library.

Children (grades K-5) are invited to create craft projects on December 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Project ideas and supplies will be provided by the library. This event is part of the library’s winter break series. Free and open to children in grades K-5.

Children (grades K-5) are invited to a special Winter Break LEGO Club on December 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., LEGO blocks and ideas will be provided, and children are also encouraged to brainstorm and build their own unique LEGO creation. This event is part of the library’s winter break series.

Teens (grades 6-12) are invited to a “Lord of the Rings” pajama party and screening of the complete trilogy on December 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. During this event, teens are invited to dress in pajamas or comfy clothes, bring a pillow, and a sack lunch. A lunch break will occur between “Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Two Towers.” Teens that bring their own lunch can spend the break challenging themselves with Tolkien trivia. The library will also have copies of Tolkien’s books available for check out. Free and open to teens only.
