Blue-Steel-FlowerLast week at this time we were bundled in our parkas and cursing the cold weather. One week later, the jackets are unzipped and kids are outside playing in shorts. If you don’t like the weather in Wisconsin, just wait a day and it will change.

So, how did this winter stack up compared to previous years? It was definitely drier and milder; especially compared to last year. Be sure to head over to the Buy Local Wausau Blog for a image highlight of last winter.

Wild Birds Unlimited of Wausau

Wow what amazing weather! Hope you all have been able to get out and enjoy it! With warm temps want to remind you that bears will come out of hibernation. Also if you use birdfood that has hulls (our no-mess doesn’t) I’m sure you’ll see a pile under the feeders. Rake them up so mold doesn’t develop and your grass has a better chance of coming back. City of Wausau

If your home was built prior to 1965 and you live in the City of Wausau, you likely have a lead water service. Wausau Water Works needs to test the lead in water supplied via lead laterals (service lines). This testing is required by the DNR. (See our website at for more details)

Thus, we need you to help with this testing program. There is no cost to the homeowner and you will get information regarding lead in your drinking water. Please contact Deb Geier at 715-261-7262 or deb.geier@ci.wausau.wi.us to schedule an appointment
